The Leisure Time Series

I write an ongoing series of series of comedy/variety shows set in a fictional 1930's radio station. Each show is an evening of programming by the station, with a "wrapper" story about the cast and crew.

Commissioned by a local theater company, the shows and portions of the shows have been performed at festivals and as "road shows" in other local theaters. Shows have included:

Leisure Time Presents: The Billy Dupree Show

Featuring an episode of the soap opera Healing Hospital and the new steampunk adventures of Lady Pemberly. 

First performed live in March 2012.

Leisure Time with Leisure Time: Bride of Leisure Time

Featuring new episodes of the soap opera Healing Hospital and the Pulp adventures of The Sneak. 

First performed live in October 2009.

Featuring the noir mystery The Lady Was Dangerous. I also performed in this production.

Leisure Time with Leisure Time: Halloween Edition

Featuring the western On the Trail with Barry Cobbler, the Leisure Time Quiz, and Scott Bravely of the Space Patrol in The Death Newt of Venus. I also directed and performed in this production.

Videos for Microsoft Flight website

Wrote scripts, captured machinima footage, and produced "webisode" videos for the announced Microsoft Flight PC game. Began as script writer for earlier videos, and increasingly took on production duties as the videos progressed.

Script Work for Microsoft Flight

Did character/voice rewrite pass on mission scripts for in-game dialog, and attended recording sessions to consult on character and wording questions.

Onstage Butler to MC Frontalot

Appeared onstage at Benoroya Hall in a walk-on role as MC Frontalot's butler during his performance at PAX Prime. I had a crazy idea for gag around one of his songs, I sent Frontalot an email, and bless the guy, he agreed. I got eighteen seconds of anonymous glory, and a spent a great night hanging around backstage, chatting with the Enforcers.

Wrote and produced a podcast of voicemail messages from a more interesting now. Each episode is a standalone comedy scifi/horror/fantasy mini-epic.

Squeaky Lobster

With the success of exchangeyourcareer.com, I was hired to co-create, write, and manage production of webcomic based on the exchangeyourcareer.com characters. Developed "arc" story based on software development cycle, and wrote strips to reflect where the characters were in their project schedule.

Exchange Your Career website

Lead writer for exchangeyourcareer.com, a recruiting website for the Microsoft Exchange product group. Developed bios for on-screen characters, wrote jokes, and wrote and edited page content to reflect unique culture of product group.

A Monstrous Evening

Wrote and performed in anthology of three original comedy/horror radio shows: Something Brave, Make Your Own Monster Movie, and The Hawthorne Curse.

First performed live in October 2004. Make Your Own Monster Movie performed again in October 2007.

Hamletcraft

Developed and programmed a machinima production of Hamlet V.ii. performed in the Starcraft game engine. Presented as part of the Richard Hugo House literary center's Annual Inquiry "Games."

Here's the process. I proposed the project before I knew exactly how to do it. The R&D was an interesting time. At one point, I ended up with Hamlet going berserk and killing everybody, even Horatio.
